Frequently Asked Questions

Do you replace engineers?

No. We don’t replace engineers. We work with them. Our role is to collect clear site evidence — photos, scans, and investigations — that engineers need to design the repair scope. If you don’t have an engineer, we can introduce you to 3 independents from our referral network.

Are you registered under DBP (Design & Building Practitioners Act)?

Yes. For Class 2 buildings, we follow the Design & Building Practitioners (DBP) Act. This means we work alongside registered engineers and provide all the evidence and records needed to support compliance.

What size projects do you take on?

We work on projects ranging from $50k balcony repairs to $5M+ façade upgrades. Whether it’s one leaking unit or a full building upgrade, we have dedicated teams for each scale.

How long do remedial projects take?

Small repairs (like a single balcony) can take 6 weeks. Large projects (like a full façade) can run 6–18 months. We always provide a clear project schedule before works begin.

How do you keep owners informed?

We provide weekly progress updates in plain English with photos. Committees and strata managers get a report that shows what’s done, what’s next, and any issues to watch.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. All projects come with the full NSW Fair Trading Warranty. We also provide a defect liability period, meaning call-backs for touch-ups are included after handover.

How do you stop cost blowouts?

We give fixed-price quotes with clear scope upfront. Variations are rare, and if they happen, they’re explained with evidence before approval. Our focus is stopping “budget creep” that most committees fear.

Do residents need to move out during works?

No. Most works are planned so residents can stay in place. We use safe access systems (like scaffolds and swing stages) and plan noisy/dusty works around residents’ needs.

Can you give references from past jobs?

Yes. We can share case studies and put you in touch with strata managers and committees we’ve worked with.

About Atomic Projects

Atomic Projects is a remedial builder based in Sydney. In the past ten years, we’ve repaired more than 100 strata buildings — fixing façades, balconies, roofs, and waterproofing — with over $20m of work delivered.

What makes Atomic different is that we’re not general builders. We only focus on remedial works. That means when cracks spread, balconies leak, or water gets into the roof, our crews know how to fix the real cause, not just cover it up.

Committees trust us because the process is clear. Quotes are fixed, timelines are set, and updates come every week with photos.

Trusted by more than 50 strata managers and 20+ independent engineers, Atomic is known for low cost, speed, and quality.

Our mission is simple: cut costs for strata committees, and get remedial works done right the first time.
